My name is Steve Dunk. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and reaching out for support is often the hardest step. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply need someone to listen, you do not have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

For more than 20 years, I worked as a paramedic, helping people through emergencies and some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Those experiences taught me the importance of compassion, resilience, and meeting people where they are. Wanting to continue supporting people in a different way, I earned a diploma in Mental Health and Addictions from Confederation College, further strengthening my knowledge and skills in supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health and addiction concerns.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Every person has a unique story, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I draw on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and grief support, tailoring our work to your individual needs, strengths, and goals. Together, we will identify practical strategies that can help you navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

If faith is an important part of your life, I am also an ordained minister and can incorporate a faith-based perspective into our work when requested. My approach always respects your personal beliefs, values, and preferences.

Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you are facing a difficult season or looking for personal growth, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward greater healing, hope, and a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

My Book

In addition to my work with clients, I've written a book on PTSD — one person's honest account of living with it, understanding it, and finding a way through. It draws on both my lived experience and my years on the frontline as a paramedic. Faith-informed, but written for anyone carrying the weight of trauma.
